Russian Customs Changes
Dear Customers
Please note the following important information with regard to Russian customs regulations affecting our express courier service...
Effective 1st June 2011 new threshold limits have been put in place for documents and printed matter shipments. These changes will affect our service as follows:
1. Shipments over 2kg cannot be declared as documents - these must now be declared as printed matter and a non-document surcharge will be applicable.
In case of shipments being declared as documents, we will advise you by e-mail that a non-document surcharge is applicable but will not delay export of your shipment.
2. Documents shipments up to 2kg and printed matter only shipments up to 5kg gross weight will not attract import duties and/or VAT.
3. Shipments over 5kg, including printed matter and low-value goods (promotional CDs, DVDs etc.) will attract duties and taxes and will need to be pre-alerted as either free domicile (DDP) or delivered at place (DAP - formerly DDU). In the case of shipments without this pre-alert, it will be assumed that the required shipping terms are DAP and goods will be held pending contact with the consignee in order to arrange payment at destination.
4. Please note that a DAP service is not available to private importers or for out of area destinations.
Should you have any queries with regard to the above, please call our office for further information.
Regards
Steve Grossman
